Diagnostic Techniques

The development of Chinese diagnosis through many dynasties resulted in a very sophisticated system
of correspondences between outward signs and the Internal organs. The four diagnostic methods -observation, auscultation and olfaction, inquiring and palpation -are applied to examining a patient to understand the pathological conditions. Then can determine the causative factors and the nature of the disease, providing the  basis for treatment. Correspondent prescription of herbs and acupuncture points are selected for the treatment.
The most important aspect of Chinese medicine diagnosis is to find the nature of disease and the root cause and accordingly the treatment plan, not treating the symptoms.
